2. Approval and Time Schedule Culinary Guideline of WACS

2.1 APPROVAL OF COMPETITIONS BY THE WORLD ASSOCIATION

Who is authorised to conduct culinary competitions under the patronage of the World Association? These are the National Associations, which belong to the World Association as members. The respective National Association has to organise - or co-organise -, conduct and supervise such competitions.

It sees to it that the rules and regulations of the World Association are adhered to and respected. It ensures that the assessments of test works is done in accordance with the guidelines given by the World Association and by judges recognised and qualified by the World Association. The National Association has to enter all invited and participating national teams in time with the organisers, and confirm that this is, indeed, the national team of the respective National Association. Abuse will be punished.

At least two years prior to the intended competition (this applies to categories a, b, c and d only), the organisers must send a written application to the WACS Presidium and to the Chairman of the Culinary Committee to obtain approval for conducting such a competition. In this way they will ensure that the competition may take place under the patronage of the World Association.

With the application the organiser must present a time schedule and a concept for the running of the competition. Further he must include a clear description of the organisation, partner firms and companies.

Once the World Association has approved the competition, the national association has the right to use the WACS logo to advertise the competition. For other advertising by organisations alien to the WACS, using the WACS logo is not permitted.

After conclusion of the competition the organiser, together with the national association, must furnish the WACS Presidency and the Culinary Committee with a final report. This must contain, most important, a list of national teams, youth national teams, regional teams and army teams with the respective placing and point classifications, as well as a complete list of the jury. The World Association will use the reported placings as a base for further work, considering world lists and additions of the certified jury members list.

2.2 TIME SCHEDULE

After acceptance of the competition by the WACS, the organiser has to comply with the following terms:

One (1) Year before the competition the organiser must supply the participants with the exact requirements. Further, he must furnish the national teams and those equiped, which will participate in the hot competition, with a layout plan of the kitchen and a description of the kitchen furniture and fittings, as well as a list of the technical equipment.

Ten (10) months before the competition he must request from the various teams the enrolment forms and names of participants, including clear descriptions of their responsibilities. Further he must request proposals for menus/recipes, if possible with pictures for the section hot kitchen, and a description of the exhibits for the section cold kitchen.

Six (6) months before the competition the organiser announces the menu which has been selected for the national team/youth national team, in the Hot Kitchen / Restaurant of Nations (Category R).
