Participating in the bi-annual Food&Hotel Asia is a ritual for many chefs out there, especially when it comes to
taking part in the many culinary competitions.

Whether you’re planning to add another medal to your tally in 2008 or competing for the first time,going through

THE PERFECT SERVE PROGRAM

PLAN

The Perfect Serve program is an internationally acclaimed program which has just been launched in Singapore.
The program lasts for 4 hours. Light refreshments will be provided and a goodie bag will be given to each
attendee at the end of the course.

The Perfect Serve Program will cover the following topics:

1. Knowledge of their core products - Eg, Johhnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys, Guiness, etc..

2. Set Up to Succeed - How to Provide the best service to customers and selling techniques.

3. Training for Knowledge - Building the confidence level when talking to customers.

4. Eye-Catching Merchandising - How to prepare and display a perfect serving with the right touch.

5. Personality & Persuasive Selling - How to do a good job that quarantees that your customers
   will come back for more.

6. Comparative Tasting - Blind tasting to help attendees to tell the difference.

7. Service Method "The Perfect Serve" - Preparing and serving the perfect serve

THE MLA BLACK BOX CULINARY CHALLENGE 2006-2008

The main sponsors Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and other co-sponsors have successfully organised over 50 Black Box Competitions in the Asian region since 1996. Three Regional final have been held in Singapore 2000, Kyoto Japan 2002 and Gold Coast Australia 2005. The competition will expend into Australia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and North America. The 4th Regional final is scheduled in 2008.

The competition is endorsed by WACS, the World Association of Chefs Societies.

The aim of the MLA Black Box Culinary Challenge is to encourage young professionals to work and compete in a team environment to display their skills and talents in a “hands-on” outside catering situation.
